Medieval Lobby
In this small lobby only one metre square the overall idea was to create a feeling of space.
This was done by painting a deeply recessed trompe l’oeil window in faux stonework.
Above the stonework was painted a frieze of suns, stars and moons seen through decorative plasterwork.
The decorative frieze leads the viewer’s eye upwards to the ceiling which is inscribed ‘Bless This House’ and adorned with angels.
